Lofoten in winter

Arrival at Narvik-Evenes airport. Pick up your rental car. Short drive to your hotel near the airport.

Drive to the island of Andøya. Take the national tourist route along the island's west coast. At the Børhella promontory, you'll see the rock formation of Bukkekjerka, an ancient Sami sacrificial site. Look out for the thousands of seabirds that colonize the cliffs: puffins, gannets... a birdwatcher's paradise!

Departing from Andenes, you embark on a zodiac whale safari. The coldest water in Andenes is the best time to see whales. Sperm whales are present all year round, but in greater numbers in winter. Finally, you arrive in Svolvaer, the main port of the Lofoten Islands. We also recommend a visit to the fishing village of Henningsvær, built on several islands.

You'll have the day to explore the Lofoten archipelago and the extraordinary nature that surrounds you. Sheep meadows, wild coves, the Nusfjord and the Borg Viking Museum - you'll explore the surrounding area at your own pace.

In the evening, you'll join a guide on a hunt for the northern lights.

Accommodation: Svinøya Rorbuer or equivalent

In Svolvær, you will board an electric catamaran for a cruise on the Trollfjord, a very narrow channel surrounded by high mountains. During the cruise, you can admire peaks such as Trolltindan on one side and Blåfjellet on the other. And don't forget to look to the skies, as the white-tailed sea eagle is the region's main attraction.

On arrival at Evenes airport, you will hand in your hire car and board the plane that will take you back to France.
