Flåm is a small village of 350 inhabitants at the head of Aurlandsfjord. The starting point of the famous Flåmsbana railway line, the little port is at the crossroads of asphalt, iron and water.

Viking Valley in Gudvangen, half-day trip

A bus will be waiting for you at the Flåm harbor to take you under the mountain to Gudvangen, at the end of the Nærøyfjord. Just a few steps from the water, the wooden walls of the Viking village Njardarheimr stand tall. You will be greeted by authentic Vikings, dressed in traditional clothing, who will introduce you to their way of life and traditions.

After a 45-minute guided tour, you will have the chance to try various activities, such as axe throwing or archery.

Take a detour to visit the house of the village chief Olafr Reydarsson, who will teach you how to play Tafl, a strategic board game that is a mix of checkers and chess. Travel back in time while listening to his stories, and who knows, perhaps he will tell you the tale of the mysterious albino brown bear that resides in his room?

Stegastein Viewpoint

A minibus will be waiting at Flåm harbor to take you a few hundred meters above the town of Aurland. Up there, 650 meters above the water, a platform built in 2006 offers a breathtaking view of Aurlandfjord, from Flåm to Nærøyfjord. Allow around 1.5 hours for the round trip and time on site.

Brewery tour and beer tasting in Ægir

Located on the Flåm harbor, the Ægir Brewery takes its name from the Viking god of the sea. The building itself is Viking-inspired, and you can enjoy the brewery's products in the center of the great hall, around the fire. A tour and tasting in English, lasting about an hour, will immerse you in the production processes of these products, all in a warm and cheerful atmosphere.Située sur le port de Flåm, la brasserie Ægir tient son nom du dieu viking de la mer.
